Decorating
We understand that not everyone has the time to do their own decorating. We lead busy lives nowadays, so sometimes a little bit of extra help is great. Here are some decorating services we recommend for helping you apply your new Sensory wallpaper, murals or borders. And if you'd rather DIY, no problem - we've provided some helpful hints too.
Hints and Tips
So, you want to have a go at putting up your brand new wallpaper yourself? Here are some helpful tips to remember, to make it look - and more importantly, feel - as good as possible*.
- Prep the walls properly. Make sure any previous wallpaper is removed properly, and that the walls are thoroughly clean and dry. If you have a particularly glossy paint or an uneven surface, it might help to apply a lining paper first, to ensure the wallpaper sticks nice and tight
- Measure your wall carefully, to make sure you cut the right length of wallpaper. Add about 5cm onto the measured length too, to give yourself a bit of leeway. You can always cut this off at the end.
- Once you've applied paste to the wallpaper, give it time to soak in. This will help prevent blistering.
- Bold designs look good on one wall, as a focal point.
- If the design has a large repeat, you're likely to need a little more wallpaper than you think, to make it match up nicely.
- It should hopefully go without saying, but please be careful when applying wet wallpaper around light fixtures or plug sockets.
